Making school information meaningful for Limited English Proficient parents, families
Prince William County Schools have the second largest number of English Language Learners (ELLs) in the state of Virginia. The school district’s student population speaks over 100 different languages, including languages of limited diffusion such as Urdu and Twi. Producing all key communication pieces in languages that make information meaningful for Limited English Proficient (LEP) students and their parents is part of the district’s best practices.
